Enjoy a guided winter naturalist walk from the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forest Service! Walks will begin at the top of the hour and last 30-45 minutes. If you arrive early the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forest Service will have an informational table with Smokey Bear tips and a wildlife display to peruse. We will have a bonfire going for those who want to hang out, ask questions to Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forest Service, or just enjoy the outdoors. On this group naturalist walk, we will:
  • Talk about winter ecology: How plants and animals have adapted to winter
  • Identify wildlife tracks
  • Learn avalanche safety tips
  • Learn about snow science
