Montana Technological University has been around for 125 years, and hockey has been a part of campus in some capacity for the past 70 years. Over the past 7 decades, the sport has changed dramatically – the skill, speed, equipment, and facilities have grown exponentially. The one thing that’s never changed is the passion for ice hockey on campus and in the Butte community.
This January, the Montana Tech Diggers look to fuse past and present, bringing modern-era hockey to the Butte Community Ice Center while acknowledging the days of old, when players would don actual hockey sweaters and not much else. Join us as the team, representing the original School of Mines, wears commemorative Heritage Jerseys to take on the University of Providence Argos.
Thanks to numerous sponsors, we’re proud to offer free admission to the game, with beverages available at concessions and at the Vu Villa (21+).
Puck drops at 740pm MDT at the Butte Community Ice Center, 1700 Wall St., Butte, MT.
